Who is Aaron Webb ?

Police in Northern Ireland have released the first image of a 12-year-old boy who died after being run over by a van on Friday – just 14 days before Christmas.

Aaron Webb was struck by the vehicle while walking on Lisburn Road, outside Glenavy in Co Antrim.

Aaron, described as a ‘very special wee boy’, from the Greater Lisburn area, died shortly after arriving to hospital.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward, particularly anyone who may have dash cam footage of the incident.

Aaron was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead following the collision at 3.30pm (stock image)

Sergeant Braiden said

“Officers attended along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

Aaron was rushed to the hospital but sadly, he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

‘The collision took place at approximately 3.30 pm.

“We appeal to anyone who was traveling in the area at this time and who witnessed the collision, or who may have captured dash cam footage, to contact us at 101. Please cite reference 1069 from 12/10/21 “.

Alliance councilor David Honeyford said it was “heartbreaking news.”

He said: “This is a terrible tragedy, words cannot convey the unimaginable pain and agony the family will go through.
“My heart goes out to the whole family circle. My thoughts and prayers are with them in this extremely difficult time of loss. ”
