Who is Tahjgeem Breaken-Ridge ?

Keon Lincoln was 15 when he died in January.

Tahjgeem Breaken-Ridge, 18, of Balsall Heath; and Michael Ugochukwu, 18, of Edgbaston were also convicted of murder after more than 15 hours of jury deliberations.

During the five-week trial at Birmingham Crown Court, the jury was told that Keon was stabbed eight times, but that the fatal wound was to his abdomen from one of two shots fired during the 3.35pm attack. January 21st.


Keon, 15, was stabbed and shot to death during a 30-second gang attack near his home in Handsworth, Birmingham, in January.

He died two hours later at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

The 14-year-old gunman, who cannot be identified due to his age, was convicted Thursday along with a 16-year-old from Walsall, who was caught on CCTV holding a large knife when Keon was attacked.

The trial heard that Breaken-Ridge, Ugochukwu and the 16-year-old were seen on CCTV holding long knives, and that Aston Lane’s Donaldson, Perry Barr, allegedly “assisted and supplied weapons” for the attack.

Speaking shortly after his death, Keon’s mother, Sharmaine Lincoln, told Sky News: “The kind of person Keon was, it doesn’t make sense why someone would want to hurt or take his life in such a brutal way.

“I have lost a part of me, my heart has been ripped out. How do you live after your son has been taken from you?”

Family friend Reverend Neville Popo told Sky News: “Keon was a young man full of life, full of energy and he loved life. He loved the people around him, he just loved being able to mingle and joke and do jokes, things that children do.

“He got along with a lot of people, he was just a funny kid. He suffered from ADHD, but he did everything he could to cope with it.”

“He couldn’t understand the fact that something like this could have happened to a young man his age,” he said.

The four defendants convicted of murder were placed in preventive custody by Judge Lord Justice William Davis.

They will be sentenced on November 29.
