The Queen is celebrating Christmas with Charles and Camilla

The Queen is celebrating Christmas with Charles and Camilla in Windsor, the first in 73 years without her loving husband, Prince Philip, who died in April at the age of 99.

Her Majesty, 95, missed the service at St. George’s Chapel, but the royal couple and other members of the royal family have joined for lunch.

The Queen’s absence from the service is understood to be a personal choice and follows a precautionary approach seen over the past six months.

Also joining the monarch at Christmas are Sophie and Edward and their daughter Lady Louise and their son James, Viscount Severn, as well as the princesses Beatrice, 33, and Eugenie, 31, their husbands Edo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank and their children August and Sienna.

Mike and Zara Tindall, and their children Mia, Lena and Lucas, also spent the night in Windsor.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Kate, both 39, and children George, Charlotte and Louis, arrived in Sandringham, where they will be joined by members of the Middleton family.

Princess Anne, 71, was ruled out spending the holiday weekend with her Queen as she is in isolation after her husband Tim Lawrence tested positive for Covid-19.
